Conférence: "Hostage At The Table" How Leaders Can Overcome Conflict, Influence Others, and Raise Performanceâ€
B3B a le plaisir de vous annoncer la prochaine conférence organisée par le Centre d’Etude Economique et Comptable (CEEC) intitulée :
18:30 – 20:00 Université de Lausanne
The chance of being taken hostage is relatively small. However, anyone can be become a ‘metaphorical hostage' in a relationship with a boss, employees, colleagues, or customers. In this program, George Kohlrieser—an international leadership professor at IMD, consultant, and veteran hostage negotiator—will illustrate that it is only by openly facing conflict that we can truly progress through the most difficult business challenges.
In this provocative program, based on his book, “Hostage at the Table: How Leaders Can Overcome Conflict, Influence Others, and Raise Performanceâ€, Dr. Kohlrieser will explore how the proven techniques and psychological insights used in hostage negotiation can be applied successfully to any personal or business relationship, ensuring one never becomes a psychological “hostageâ€. Step by step, he will outline the key factors that anyone can use to remove the blocks that stand in the way of resolving tough problems. He will illustrate how business leaders and managers can develop the skills they need to engage in productive dialogue and to create trust and a positive mind-set in their companies. This is a fundamental challenge for leaders who desire to create highly engaged workforces focused on achieving high performance.
As Kohlrieser will illustrate, the techniques hostage negotiators use in dealing with real-life hostage situations can provide a powerful framework for leaders and managers to use in any situation where the goal is to raise performance to their highest levels.
By participating in this program you will:
* Recognize when you are being held a metaphorical hostage and what to do about it
* Understand how to use “the mind's eye†for high performance leadership
* Explore how a leader creates trust and engagement and elicits cooperation and collaboration
* Learn techniques for maintaining high motivation
* Become better prepared to resolve conflicts and handle difficult conversations
Hostage at the Table is also available in French (Négociations sensibles. Les techniques de négociations de prises d'otages appliquées au management. Village Mondial, 2007) and 9 other languages.
Kohlrieser is an organizational and clinical psychologist and professor of leadership and organizational behavior at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), one of the world's leading business schools located in Lausanne Switzerland. His research, teaching, and consulting activities, which focus on high performance leadership and teamwork, conflict and change management, dialogue and negotiation, and stress management, incorporate the lessons learned as a psychologist and hostage negotiator.
We look forward to seeing you on February 19th.
